ABSTRACT

In most books, the final chapter provides conclusions, summing up the arguments and perhaps speculating beyond the evidence and into the future. Here, I will do some of that, but I also want to mix up the previous chapters, to emphasise that the neat divisions I have used to produce digestible sections of text are themselves part of the problem of getting to know environmental publics more fully. So in this final chapter, I want to consider the ways in which practices are linked between different contexts in which publics work, live and play, including online and offline spaces.
