ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces instructional technologies that benefit the development of proficiency in reading and writing. Insights are drawn both from second language acquisition (SLA) theories and master teachers’ curricular designs to address technology integration in: accessing reading materials, making the reading process observable, creating engaging writing tasks and projects, tracking and providing feedback to multi-draft writing, incorporating peer responses, collaborative writing, providing para-literacy exercises, and developing digital literacy.
