ABSTRACT

I went to Worth by afternoon train yesterday – found the Cottage inside being nicely scrubbed by Mrs & daughter of the upper Crabbet lodge (very nice bodies & minds) and the fi res had been kept going, and place noticeably warmer. Tomorrow I go by early train for all day – to direct Shoolbred’s people when getting in – in a way, the furniture &c. Shall be back at night to do London things, and possibly on Tuesday afternoon going to the quite decent Inn there at East Grinstead for a night or two; and at the town shops get some things to start with, & then send for the housekeeper. I hope the ‘stores’ will be there by Wednesday – at the station at all events.
