Family values concern how events and experiences need to be interpreted, believed, and performed in certain ways in relation to family life. The process by which families and family members develop their value orientations emerges out of multiple factors – including environmental, educational, and experiential. Family rituals are considered a part of family culture through which enduring values, attitudes and goals are transmitted. To get an idea of ordinary family life and its association with family socialization patterns, the families were also observed for an ordinary day in their homes. The act of migration may be a short period for a family that migrates as a group, or may take several years if the family members migrate separately. Family stress results in family dysfunction and requires great effort by the family to remove or solve the problems. Although family coping patterns vary for each family, certain patterns of problem-solving can be observed more frequently in families of certain cultural groups.
