ABSTRACT

The conclusions drawn and recommendations made from a study that uses literature review methodology should clarify what is now known as a result of the review, and what should be done because of this knowledge. The conclusions drawn from the review of the literature should be related to the study question and aims, derived from the findings, and clearly stated. The review's question, aims and findings should be the cornerstone of what is concluded, and the conclusions made must be based on evidence that has already been presented in the findings and discussion. The recommendations from a review whose aim was to explore the experiences of parents whose children were electively hospitalized short term should be focused on that group. A more achievable recommendation might be that alternative options for providing refreshments for parents be considered, such as vending machines or facilities for parents to prepare basic meals and make beverages being available on wards.
