ABSTRACT

Establishing a strong case for the effectiveness of cognitive behavioural therapy-I (CBT) from the outset of the session is important, as this assists in increasing a client’s motivation to actively participate in treatment. CBT is a type of treatment that helps people to develop helpful thinking habits and behaviours. Sleep is natural process that will automatically adjust itself with a little bit of knowledge and a structured approach. The average amount of sleep healthy adults need is between 6 and 9 hours a night. Some people function fine on as little as 5 or 6 hours of sleep, and there are people who need 10 or more hours. Some people benefit from more sleep to recover from a mental health relapse, medical problems, or stressful times. There are also people who would benefit from less sleep. Sometimes, people oversleep because they enjoy sleeping and it feels good, or it can be an escape from boredom, low mood, anxiety, or stress.
