ABSTRACT

TD Bank opened the U.S.’s first net zero energy bank branch in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2011. One of the ten largest banks in the U.S., TD Bank has a corporate goal to be as green as its (green) logo. The corporation has been carbon-neutral since 2010. The 3,900-square-foot Cypress Creek branch store performed as net positive energy over the three-year period beginning in January 2012. (See Box 13.1 for a project overview.)
