ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at how to complete strong reports and powerful presentations, both of which are more than just writing the words or preparing the slides with animations. Both a report and presentation are systematic and structured ways to explain a problem, situation or an idea. The chapter shows that there are a series of common mistakes made in reports written by safety professionals which devalue the overall message. The first few steps for writing and delivering an effective presentation are the same as writing an effective presentation. Communicating through reports and presentations is often a must be able to do' on many job advertisements for safety roles. Every organisation will have its own house style, the way it does things. Without clear and effective communication, people will fail to get buy in, traction and engagement.
