ABSTRACT

A useful starting point would be an explanation of the life cycle of a business organization in their growth curve model of change. In this model the organization passes through three phases in the following sequence: formative, normative, and integrative. An alternative model is the continuous change process model, which incorporates facets of the Lewin model. It is considered more realistic because it examines organizational change from the perspective of top management and recognizes that change is continuous. An organizational change, such as a move to a better office, can be warmly accepted, simply because it is seen to have obvious advantages. The survey feedback technique is a popular organizational change and development intervention. Teambuilding on an inter-group basis can be referred to as inter-group development. Inter-group development sets out to change the attitudes, stereotypes, and perceptions that groups have of each other in order to foster cooperation and communication between them.
