ABSTRACT

So in many ways like this, including sanitation and immunization, schooling is more critical for mothers in the less developed countries because they cannot count on the level of help from a public health infrastructure and other community resources that protect children and mothers in the rich countries. In other words, children the in the developing world are more dependent for their survival and development on the personal resourcefulness of their mothers, and that makes women's schooling such a potent variable there.
