ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the concept of creativity and its relationship with notions such as genius, madness and danger. The association between genius and creativity stems from Immanuel Kant’s analysis of the creative imagination, which has had a profound influence on Western conceptions of art and its nature. The chapter identifies ten characteristics that Kant ascribes to creativity and tests these against current views.
