ABSTRACT

This chapter proposes the expressing condition, how to say don't do to express one's obligation by making comparisons, expressing means of transportation by taking a taxi and providing a destination, making a polite request, expressing the duration of travel time and the public transportation system in Korea. It discusses the public transportation in Korea that is highly developed and inexpensive. The chapter focuses on the large proportion of the Korean population that depends on public transportation for the commute and in cities. It is convenient to use public transportation than one's own car due to the shortage of parking space. The chapter discusses the major cities in Korea such as Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Daejeon and Gwangju that has a subway system and the traffic in the cities is very heavy where the subways is preferable for the convenience and fast speed. It talks about the Seoul subway currently that has eight lines and serves about four million passengers per day.
