ABSTRACT

This chapter talks about the Honorific words form of "to exist and to have". It explains the choice between honorific polite forms and polite forms which depends on the listener's social status/power and the degree of closeness between two speakers. The chapter discusses the model dialogue that demonstrates the authentic communicative exchanges in Colloquial Korean accompanied by Romanization and English translation. It focuses on the exercises to check the comprehension of the vocabulary, grammar points, and functions a review of unit content and an application of acquired knowledge where the activities from the model dialogue. This chapter describes the exercise items that include both structural drills and communicative tasks where the Structural drills provide guided questions that reinforce the functions and grammar point and Communicative tasks encourage the learner to produce more creative answers. It deals with the cultural point that presents up-to-date cultural information relevant to the unit content and useful tips for visitors in the Republic of Korea.
