ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the group simulations, in which assessees work together to complete a task and describes Intra-Group simulations, in which participants work together within a group to complete a specified task. Group simulations require communication and coordination among participants. Intra-Group simulations require group members to work together with information to solve a problem or make a decision. The information gathered during the analysis phase will suggest necessary features of the Intra-Group simulation. Another feature to consider when constructing an Intra-Group simulation is whether to provide the participants with assigned or non-assigned roles. The depth and breadth of the participants' materials can vary widely and will depend largely on the purpose of the simulation. One class of potential technological implementations that is relevant to group simulations in particular involves technology that allows team members to work together toward a specific goal.
