ABSTRACT

This chapter describes Individual Interpersonal simulations where the individual interacts with one or more people to understand some issue, come up with a solution, and motivate the other person to take action. In the analysis phase of constructing an Individual Interpersonal simulation, it is important to gather extensive information on the various people job incumbents interact with, including subordinates, peers, supervisors, customers, suppliers, the general public, and others inside and outside the organization. The total time for an Individual Interpersonal simulation can vary from as short as 30 minutes to as long as 1 hour, 50 minutes. The Individual Interpersonal simulation contained a situation almost identical to a real situation that recently occurred in a medium-sized organization. The developer of the Individual Interpersonal simulation will want to take follow-up steps to conduct pilot tests and to evaluate the process and outcomes of simulation implementation.
