After completing this chapter, the reader should be able to:
briefly describe the structure and function of the major parts of the eye;
identify the classes of drugs used in the treatment of conditions affecting the eye;
state the rationale for use, mechanisms of action, characteristics, adverse drug reactions and general contraindications of use of drugs in these conditions.
