ABSTRACT

It’s late in the evening on an early April Wednesday. I’m walking through the parking lot adjacent to the elementary and middle schools where I’m working with teachers and administrators on narrative writing. I’m grimacing in the spring wind, but my facial expression changes to a smile as I look at my phone and see a text message from the elementary school’s principal: “Awesome work today. You did a great job easing everyone’s minds about narrative writing. Both our teachers and our parents are feeling much better now.”
