ABSTRACT

The San tong li 三統曆 ‘Triple Concordance system’ is a collection of data and procedures for calculation, preserved in the text of the Han shu 漢書 (Writings/ documents on the Han), a history of the Western Han dynasty (206 bce-9 ce) edited by Ban Gu 班固 (32-92 ce) with the help of his sister Ban Zhao 班昭 (45-116 ce), which reached final form in the early second century ce. It is our earliest extant example of a complete li.
