ABSTRACT
Theft of identity occurs when a person, other than the owner of the identity and without permission of the owner, uses the identity to the disadvantage of its owner. In other words, identity theft refers to all types of crime in which someone wrongfully obtains and uses another person’s personal data in some way that involves fraud or deception, typically for economic gain.
