ABSTRACT

The serious question of the Neapolitan main waterfront of Via Caracciolo in this case, underlines the fact that for a long time this street has been acting as a barrier between the seafront and the city, for the presence of cars and parking areas. Even though this seaside is located very close to an important urban public park, the link between the green area and the sea was, and in part, still is, mediated by a very congested, vehicle accessible, road. Another proposal for the same question of the central Naples waterfront is the introduction into the area of a new cycle lane with the appropriate additions. As far as the city regeneration is concerned, the entire axis along the sea is meant for providing services and facilities, now absent, and providing the chance of experiencing the area in different way. Another important area of the Neapolitan waterfront is the historical, "Molo di San Vincenzo", entering far into the sea.
