ABSTRACT

The sustainable regeneration process for a city requires absolute synergy between a number of experts who can interact and share ideas, methodologies, and the scientific capability necessary in order to achieve the common goals of satisfying environmental requirements. The environmental architect, the engineer of material, structure, environment, chemical, and hydraulics, the industrial designer, the sociologist, the planner, the waste expert, the energy experts, and the informatics specialists are all needed for exploiting the potential of a sustainable regeneration procedure. The first approach to urban architecture is conventionally made up by the tools of the survey, the drawing, and the representation. The experts, while trying to reduce fossil fuel consumption, have discovered a number of technical solutions capable of allowing buildings and other constructions to employ less energy, exploit renewable, and guarantee more comfort with fewer costs. Experts are needed when dealing with so-called advanced materials.
