ABSTRACT
Metamorphosis was a word that came into the author’s head yesterday when he had an email from CrossFit.com telling him that he had successfully passed his level 1 CrossFit trainer course. In Kafka's Metamorphosis the central character, Gregor, turns into an unidentified insect-like creature that he finds repellent and so too do the people he comes into contact with. Hopefully, that is not what has happened in author’s case. He using the analogy with metamorphosis in terms of the notion of transformation and rather than this being a process that just happens there is much more input by the individual through learning, experience and 'performance'. Although the author’s original goal was to complete the whole period of six months' training, in addition he have registered for the CrossFit games and attended a level 1 training course which means, according to the email that he received, a level 1 CrossFit trainer.
