ABSTRACT

Since research on interactive actions is laborious and expensive, this study of individual differences in five-minute interactions was designed to serve a number of purposes. First, we hoped to make it paradigmatic. We wanted to indicate what could be done in a comprehensive study involving an extensive list of actions and their interrelationships. Not only can investigators profit from our mistakes, from seeing the inadequacies of this study, but they also can profit, we trust, from our findings.
