ABSTRACT

The most recent issue of these Regulations updates, consolidates and amends the original 1994 version of the same title. The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 (SI 1998 No 2451) came into force on 31 October 1998. Much of the present version was already in place in the former regulations. They address the safe installation, maintenance and use of gas systems, which includes gas fittings, appliances and flues mainly in domestic and commercial premises. They include both natural gas and LPG, subject to some exceptions, and place responsibilities on those working with appliances and fittings as well as both suppliers and users of gas.
