ABSTRACT

These Regulations came into force fully on 13 May 2000. They replaced the 1985 Regulations of the same name, and implement in part the provisions of EC Directives 96/29 Euratom (basic safety standards for workers), 90/641 Euratom (operational protection of outside workers) and 97/43 Euratom (dangers of ionising radiation in relation to medical exposure), which prescribe the basic safety standards for the health protection of the general public and workers against the dangers of ionising radiation.
