ABSTRACT

Balance is when the body is in equilibrium and stationary, meaning no linear or angular movement. Even children can struggle with their ability to balance. This can be due to many reasons, such as being physically unfit, past and existing injuries, neurological, and mental issues. Balance and neuromuscular efficiency are improved through repetitive exposure to a variety of multisensory conditions. Occupational therapy activities treat such problems with specific brain/body exercises, and people as classroom teachers can help, too, using activities that have children crossing the midline. Balance training is important, as it can improve postural alignment of the body and develop coordinated movement. Having good balance is an important skill to have when doing any type of day-to-day physical activity. Having good balance skills will reduce chances of injury and increase dynamic coordination. Hula hooping helps strengthen core, but is also great for developing balance and coordination. Hold for desired length on time while maintaining balance.
