ABSTRACT

One of the biggest challenges people now face with the use of technology is the sedentary nature of sitting and working on a computer. It is the same dilemma as sitting at a desk all day, but now they have a piece of electronic equipment that makes it more enjoyable to sit and play. The sedentary nature of surfing the internet or using laptops is not just about weight gain, but about decreasing fitness levels. So, in some aspects, technology has actually helped create the sedentary learning environment that exists in education. While technology has improved civilization, maybe too much of a good thing has started to cause some unwanted side effects. Integrating technology with fitness should also be a focus for the overall health of students. Adults now use technology in the form of apps and web-based programs to help them with their fitness and nutritional goals.
