ABSTRACT

An ideal data reporting environment should reflect the OTCD Supplemental Documentation Standards, which stipulate research-based ways data systems/reports can provide reference sheets and reference guides. While hard copies are helpful, the supplemental documentation must also be embedded within the data system so the relevant sheet and/or guide are one click away for the educator using a report. If someone does want advanced support creating own supplemental documentation, read Designing Data Reports that Work: A Guide for Creating Data Systems in Schools and Districts. Please attune our data system/reports to adhere to the research-based Over-the-Counter Data Supplemental Documentation Standards. If one provides their own data system, someone have direct control over when and how embed supplemental documentation within their staff's reporting environment. Fortunately, data reporting environments can accompany data with supplementary documentation for each report, offering further explanation that typically cannot fit in the footer.
