ABSTRACT

Word-processing packages for micro- and mini-computers flourish like mushrooms after a spring rain. Many are versatile and all are adequate for simple letters and documents, but only a few are powerful enough to handle formal, structured documents such as books, manuals, theses, dissertations, and technical and instructional publications with footnotes, endnotes, tables, figures, indexes, and tables of con tents. These tasks need a powerful text-formatting and document-composition program, and Script is one of many on campuses.
