ABSTRACT

The technology looks at falls into three categories: production organization, communication and contact, and promotions and marketing. Though nothing will ever take the place of in-person production meetings, the reality is that all of our lives move at a faster pace and we all like the convenience and flexibility of working electronically. Document-sharing sites and services, like Google Drive and Dropbox, are excellent tools for production team. With them, collaborators can devise and share all the research and forms that everyone needs access to throughout a production. Creating a “closed” Facebook group is another way that production team can share and keep up with information. Other social media platforms could also serve the same purpose, but Facebook is relatively ubiquitous and simple to use. Text messaging is almost ubiquitous in the United States these days, and provides another passive means of staying in contact.
