ABSTRACT

This chapter draws its inspiration from the American Christmas tradition of the Elf of the Shelf. It explains the teacher how to set up a crime scene in the classroom for the children to explore: leave behind the evidence of where Elf and the mascot have been taken as they were eating their dinner. To set the scene, the teacher should include: cordoning off the area with tape, torn out pieces of a travel brochure scattered around the scene, a map with co-ordinates providing clues to the first location in the world where Elf and mascot may be hiding and anything else that captures one's teacher's imagination. Each iPad user is being able to add their thoughts and take notes on the crime scene they are investigating. A Trello app is used to create a board called crime scene investigations. The Tellagami app is used, which allows friends to record messages of sightings of Evil Travelling IronMan (E-TIM), Elf and the class mascot.
