ABSTRACT

Do Ink produces two apps which work well together or as separate apps in their own right. Do Ink's Green Screen app allows up to three images and videos to be stitched together. Green screening allows one to take a video against a flat coloured background and then lay that on top of another image. The chroma key filters out the colour to reveal the image or video below. Using a green screen is an ideal way for children to interact with activities that require them to use spoken language in a way that engages with their audience, and offering them the chance to both perform and evaluate their own dramatic presentations. There are three tools at the right of the timeline for adjusting the images one is working with: Chroma tool, Crop tool and Mask tool. Pupils could interview senior members of staff in their office/classroom by the screen and use iMovie to edit the clips together.
