ABSTRACT

Padlet is a collaborative app, and it works in much the same way as Google documents, in that users are able to contribute to the same project. However, a key difference is that Padlet works like an online wall of information providing a range of backgrounds and photo upload options and it combines text postings, visual images, video and comment options. Users can create multiple walls across a range of subject options, and whilst content can be added by anyone from any device, it is the wall owner who has the editing rights, which means that any potential collaborators can only edit/delete their own contributions. The school Backpack option enables the teacher to set privacy options so that only approved users can add/see the virtual wall of shared information. Padlet is a flexible app, which enables the user to personalise their walls through creative modifications and additions. In KS2, Padlet could be used to reinforce vocabulary learning in language studies.
