Introduction

This chapter introduces the analytical category of regime neo-Eurasianism, which will be used throughout the book in reference to the form of Eurasia-centric foreign policy implemented by the Nazarbaev regime between 1994 and 2019. The opening chapter also situates this book within the mainstream scholarly literature, illustrating the research design devised in support of the volume’s overarching line of argument.
