ABSTRACT
My fi rst fi lm “Th e Unbelievable Truth” was quite a big fi lm at the Toronto Film Festival, which was the fi rst time that I had to ask people what indie means, because that’s when I heard about the term. It was a tag invented by people whose work is to market fi lms. It immediately struck me it reminded me of the interview I read with Elvis Costello, where he said, people labeled him as punk. He said “whatever”. Th at’s how I felt about indie fi lms.
