ABSTRACT

The idea of acting mindfully and making wise decisions runs throughout mindfulness practice. Sometimes it can be easy to act wisely, for example putting a tired child to bed when they have school the next day. Sometimes it can be hard, such as when our emotions are really high or our heart says one thing and our head says another. We might find an important work commitment clashes with our friend’s wedding, and we are having trouble deciding which to attend. In this case, it can be helpful to use our mindfulness skills to help us work out what the wise decision for us would be.
