ABSTRACT
Social Work Practice in the Addictions is designed to include content on all addictive behaviors.
The purpose of this special issue is to provide social work researchers, educators, and practitioners with updated information on the intersection between trauma and addictive behavior. The preponderance of research regarding trauma and addictive behavior is in the area of substance misuse and the contents of this special issue reflect that. Despite our call for papers that included all addictive behaviors, the submissions we received were predominately about trauma and substance misuse. We are delighted that this issue does include an article that examines the relationship between exposure to traumatic stress and gambling.
