ABSTRACT
Leonnatos was a relative of Eurydike, the mother of Philip II, hence a member of the Lynkestian royal house; he was a syntrophos of Alexander and it is presumably because he was brought up at the Court that he was referred to as Pellaian.1 Leonnatos’ father’s name appears in four different forms in different works of Arrian: Anteas (Ἀντέου: Anab. 6.28.4), Anthos (Ἄνθους: Succ. 1.2), Onasos (Ὀνάσου: Anab. 3.5.5) and Eunos (Εὔνου: Ind. 18.3). The first two are clearly variants of the same name; the other two are most likely scribal errors.2
