ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the more serious aspects of digital use and the internet, and look at what might be the dark side of what could be fun and games. Addiction is a state where someone continues to engage with a stimulus in spite of adverse consequences. Most parents have heard of cyberbullying bullying through the medium of the internet and social media. In a strange twist, some people have used the very anonymity of the internet to use cyberbullying to garner support, by posting anonymous insults directed at themselves, hoping that other users will jump in with reassurance and kindness. Most parents have heard about pornography being available and accessible on the internet, and do worry their children may be viewing inappropriate material. Revenge porn is an entirely different proposition. In revenge porn, material with sexual content is uploaded on social media or websites but it's done with the intention of causing maximum embarrassment, harassment and harm to the person.
