ABSTRACT

We are all in search of the miraculous, which is inner peace. I have pondered about it; I have looked for it; I have discussed its conditions with friends and teachers; and I have tried to find help in my search from individuals and from the one religious community I have seen actively aiding people in need: the Quakers. Peace is a by-product, and in searching for it one has to look for other inner conditions which could bring it about. It is the same with happiness, indeed the two are interchangeable. Man cannot expect peace and happiness to arrive around unexpected corners of life before he has looked into himself and has got hold of the structure on which the edifice of his psychical existence rests.
