This chapter deals with fear follows those that provide the theory and tools to acquire a decent level of preparation and a positive mindset. It describes meta-communication and how it can help one to conquer some of those fears while making an impact. The first step in learning to get those butterflies to fly in formation, to control one's nerves, is to have an understanding of why one harbors these fears. Preparation is key to offsetting many of the fears associated with speaking in public. In terms of allaying those fears, receiving feedback from one or several members of the audience provides one with an invaluable tool to calm down and simply share that important message. In the context of coming to terms with speech anxiety, it cannot be stressed enough that strategic meaningful pauses are an additional elixir in overcoming these fears.
