ABSTRACT

The Division Math Running Record is an assessment that looks at students' understanding of the basic division facts. The first step in administering the Division Math Running Record is introducing the student to the test. As the student is giving the answers, the teacher is following along and recording what is happening on the sheet according to the codes. This is going to shed greater light on the students understanding because the teacher is going to ask in detail about each of those problem types and listen to and record what students are saying and actually. The teacher uses the Teacher Recording Sheet for the question prompts and to take notes. The teacher carefully looks at the strategies that the students are using for each type of fact and codes them accordingly. But, then the teacher might notice that the student gets stuck because even though they know the strategy, they might not know their multiplication facts fluently.
