ABSTRACT
Capitalism might survive in a more humane form than now seems plausible. Rather than waiting until people have irrefutable proof for their view of capitalism's future, they find it preferable to think ahead by preparing to act beyond capital and sharing their best scholarly contribution with the project of changing the dynamics of social formation reproduction (SFR). They first offer ideas oriented toward the macro-level of social formation, and then the micro-level of organizing, to clarify what they have in mind. The kind of metrics chosen must reflect the nature of the values themselves. They have argued for a close connection between the vulnerability of current SFR and the hegemony of ratio-type market valuing that dominates it. The metrics appropriate to their project combine numerical counting metrics as well as many that are nonnumerical. The metrics they present here are not merely topics where any range of information nuggets can be assembled.
