Although Thomas had not done any exercise the day before, all his muscles ached when he woke up. He felt nauseous. He had no energy whatsoever to get out of bed. The morning was grey and cold. The curtains were opened a bit, and the outside world penetrated his room with too loud sounds of cars and people on the street. He tried to cheer himself up (‘It WILL be spring again, I WILL get out of this mess, I WILL get myself together’) but nothing helped. Immediately the worries started to cloud his mind. He worried about his work, he worried about his relationship, he worried about his children. He had been away from work for 12 weeks now. He worked at a bank and had a good salary.
