ABSTRACT

Even excluding the terabytes of footage that are produced, a typical production generates a huge amount of data. Data in the sense of what was done where and by whom, but also in terms of opinions, notes, and considerations about the many minutiae of the production’s process. Th is information can be stored in hundreds of diff erent places, often unavailable to the people who might need it, and can be the cause of a great deal of delays, mistakes, complications, and confusion.
