ABSTRACT

When a large amount of production assets live in the Cloud, on servers somewhere else on the planet, it is natural to develop a sense of paranoia that any of it could fall into the wrong hands, either through accidental exposure or someone determined and malicious enough to attempt to access it without authorisation. Th ere’s probably enough to say about computer security, particularly when it comes to the Cloud to fi ll several books in their own right, but suffi ce it to say there’s no reason anything stored in the Cloud shouldn’t be at least as secure as anything stored on your own personal computer. Examples of other sectors that entrust their data to be secured in the Cloud include human resourcing, healthcare, and governments.
