ABSTRACT

In Chapter 1, the focus is on how we and our clients live and work today in cyberspace. The chapter looks at how embedded technology is within our lives and hopefully fosters embracement rather than rejection. The authors recognise the forthcoming tipping point when coaches in general do not remember times pre-Internet and will probably look back with puzzlement at suspicions of working online.

The chapter uses the concept of cyberculture to introduce the reader to thinking ethically as a coach within that culture, using headings to introduce those elements of being a modern coach that did not necessarily (or obviously) apply in an off-line world.
