§ l. The Byers Green dialect has the following vowel sounds:—
Short vowels: [i, ε, æ, a, œ, ə̈, ə, ɑ, u, ɔ].
Long vowels: [ī, ē, ǣ, œ̄, ə̈̄, ō ɔ̄].
Diphthongs: [iə̈́ iá, iú, eī, eū, ai, ɑi, ɑu öu, ɔi].
Triphthongs: [iúə, eīə, eūə, aiə, ɑuə, öuə].
