ABSTRACT
The history and larger trends depicted in the previous chapters inform all of the landscape types presented in this volume, beginning with those of New Communities. These small cities are home to recently arrived Mexican-American communities, drawn by new meatpacking and light manufacturing plants. These new arrivals stimulate revitalization, but also reaction from other residents.
