ABSTRACT
The chapter examines the economic impact of immigration in the United States. It shows that can be done to reduce the bias against immigrants and talks about acculturation, assimilation, and integration of immigrants into the new host country. The chapter also presents the recommendations for organizations with regard to immigration. The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that employers with four or more employees must not discriminate on the basis of national origin against people who are US citizens, US nationals, or aliens authorized to work in the United States. In addition to threats related to scarce resources, symbolic threat is another source of threat which can make people nervous about immigration. The political climate toward immigrants in a particular country will also be indicative of how they are treated. According to several sources, the overall economic impact of immigration on the US economy is positive. Sweden is a country that has traditionally been open to immigration.
